I decided to post daily or I will get lost and make myself crazy!!
From now on will be calling the indoor bike Trainer and the outdoor bike Steed,,why??? I don't know, except to tell them apart.
Fairly crappy day foodwise so far....several pieces of an oatmeal, whole grain bread I baked this morning and iced tea sweetened w/stevia for breakfast..........having a baked sweet potato in a few minutes...supper?? who knows.....badly planned or should I say completely unplanned day.
Rode Trainer for 22 minutes...that's 7 more than yesterday at one shot...3 miles!!! Awesome for me!!!!
Found that the book stand holds my tablet perfectly...watched part of Private Practice which made the time pass great....love that and will be doing that each time.

Countdown to Maine....26 weeks!!!
In 26 weeks I'm going to Maine w/my sisters and Mother for a week. I haven't been there to see my sister Nancy since Wes and I got married 11 1/2 years ago. I was the highest weight of my life on that trip..
..340 lbs.
I got back and saw my wedding pictures and just about died of shame. Spent the next three years dropping 141 lbs to 199 and I felt great...looked good...such a difference!!
I was doing great...going to curves 3x/week, walking 20-25 miles a week and I loved it...felt strong....felt more like I did as a kid for the first time as an adult, at least since my children were born. Then I hurt my back, two falls, spondylolisthesis, a disc herniation, severe spinal stenosis and nerve compression to my legs which caused/causes severe pain and inability to walk any distance. Over the last six years I have lost so much muscle mass, so much strength that I am starting at the very beginning, the bottom. I''ve regained 76 lbs of the weight I lost but I am not done....not by a long shot!!
When I go to Maine I will be so much further along then I am now toward my goal of being strong, energetic and thin. Yes, I have a long way to go, but the time will pass one way or another and now that I've found cycling and seen some improvement already I know I have found the right combination. Will I be perfect no.....but I will strive to do the next right thing.
I'm going to keep posting in this same thread to have continuity on my journey. I'm resolved~

Looking Forward~
I have two things that I am really looking forward to this year...
1. In February Grace is coming for a week. Can't wait to see her and spend time together AND ride the bikes to the beach!
2. In July Grace, Mom and hopefully Margaret and I are going to Maine to see Nancy for a week! That is going to be so much fun. I miss my Mother and my sisters!! I am planning of being strong enough by then to hold my own whatever we plan to do. ie...walking, bike riding, etc...I will NOT be left behind! It's a great incentive!!

Beautiful New Year, Bright New Day
Alrighty then......haven't posted since August I think.....been in a spiral ever since.
BUT...I bought a three wheeler and have started riding it. First time was once around the block and that about did me in....next time was twice. Yesterday Wes and I went out three different times and totaled about 2 1/2 miles. I had to force myself the second two times but the thing is I LOVE it. I used to ride for hours and hours a day when I was young and it felt so good to be doing it again. I've been having some very bad back related nerve pain in both legs recently and have felt like I can hardly walk some days. Somehow the riding is easier than walking and I am pretty excited because today for the first time in many weeks my legs are not hurting much.
My work schedule won't allow me to ride the bike during the week because I don't get done till after dark and don't feel that is safe....so during the week I will be riding the recumbent stationary bike every day! I did 7 minutes today which is a big progress for me. I have a lot of lost muscle to rebuild. My legs were always the strongest part of me but in the last six years (due to the back issues) I have done almost nothing and lost so much strength and more than strength lost hope....hope that I would ever feel well and strong again. I really crappy place to live!!
So...I am a eating high raw/plant-based diet, not 100% but close to it.....and riding the bike. My first goal is to ride to the beach....last night I made it half way. Weather permitting Wes and I are going to take the bikes to Hanna Park this weekend too.
Food Today-
B~Fresh orange juice, energy greens, spinach, blueberries & banana smoothie
S~ Handful of raw pecans
L~A big salad of mixed greens, spinach, zucchini, cucumbers, red pepper, red & green cabbage, carrots & mushrooms...small amount of balsamic vinaigrette.
S~A Pear
D~Baked sweet potato, black bean burger on a roll & baked beans
3 T. of avocado/cacao pudding that I made this morning
Plenty of food, fairly low in calories.
I feel good, feel stronger already which amazes me.......this will be so good for both Wes and I. He, btw, is loving the bike riding!!! Hope the day is a good one for you! What a happy Monday for me!

Futzing around and going in circles!
So...On Saturday I fly to Albany for a week to see my son Josh, daughter-in-law Kristianna and new baby Anderson. I can't wait!!! Will be there with them for a week! What a joy for me to have that time. Can't wait to hold him in my arms!! And then my sister Grace & brother-in-law George are coming for most of a week. After that I am re-committing to my juice fast for 30 days minimum. I am so looking forward to it. Have been in pain again big time and after having almost none for a month it's pretty hard to take.
So....on September 20th I will begin juice fasting again...have lost a little ground but will retake it pretty quick I think.
I ordered a new bike and it will be here when I get back...am going to be walking/riding three times a week with my daughter Erin........yup...we both need an exercise buddy.
